Company Information (Main Menu / Setup / Company)

 

 

Overview

 

The company dialog stores the company name, address and taxation model.

 

Note: This record needs to be saved each time a new location is added to apply settings.

 

Actions

 

Edit - Edits the company settings.

 

Save - Saves changes to the company settings.

 

Cancel - Cancels the current operation.

 

Close - Closes the Company form.

 

Keys - Displays the on-screen keyboard (see On-Screen Keyboard).

 

Help - Displays the help menu (see Help Menu)

 

Tool Tips - Hover the mouse cursor over any field descriptor to display a brief description.

 

 

Fields

 

Name - Entry limited to 40 alphanumeric characters.

 

Example:

Fresh Market

 

Address - Entries limited to 40 alphanumeric characters.

 

Example:

400 Santa Monica Blvd

 

City, State, Zip - Entries limited to 40 alphanumeric characters.

 

Example:

Santa Monica, CA 90401

 

Phone - Entries limited to 10 numeric characters. (Formatting is automatic)

 

Example:

Enter 3108772900

The entry will be formatted as (310) 877-2900

 

Country - Select your country from the drop down list.

 

 

Item Tax Model - Used to indicate the item tax model to use for calculating taxes, if any. Available options are:

 

·Sales Tax (United States)

·Goods and Services (GST), Provincial Sales Tax (PST), Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) (Canada)

·Also allows for entering the GST number assigned by the government. This number will print on the sales receipt directly beneath the receipt header. (40 characters max)

·Value Added Tax (VAT)

·Also allows for entering the VAT registration number assigned by the government. This number will print on the sales receipt directly beneath the receipt header. (40 characters max)

·Not applicable

 

Manufacturer Coupons - Used to determine how manufacturer coupons are applied at the point of sale.

 

·When checked manufacturer coupons will act as a discount and thereby lower sales tax.

·When unchecked manufacturer coupons act as a form of tender and do not affect sales tax.

 

·NOTE::  Check with your local tax jurisdiction for rules on accepting manufacturer coupons.

 

Age Restricted Items - Used to specify whether or not the cashier will have to enter the customer's date of birth on age restricted items before ringing the item.

 

·When checked the cashier will need to enter the customer's date of birth,

·When unchecked the cashier will confirm the date of birth is on or before the date displayed.
